May 29 Motorcycle Awareness Month

In honor of Memorial Day, I want to do a bit of a history lesson.  Did you know the Motorcycle Clubs of today mostly started due to the Military?  Yes, there were motorcycle Clubs before WWII, but they were mostly AMA (American Motorcycle Club) riding or racing clubs.  Then after vets came home after WWII the clubs changed and became more of what we think of as Motorcycle Clubs today.  So today we are remembering those who gave our lives for our freedoms and remembering those who started the lifestyle that we have embraced.

Even today the Military is a bit part of motorcycle clubs.  Veterans join all sort of clubs, 1% clubs, Mom & Pop clubs, and there are even military clubs.   Some clubs require you to prove you were in the military before you can join and there are some that require you to see combat.   There are clubs for specific wars, for specific branches of the Armed Forces and some that are for all military service.

I am including some more in-depth information with the connection of Motorcycle clubs and the military.
